i believe thats on purpose...when you sell over 1.5 million downloads in 1 day, having a fancy website prone to crashing probably wouldn't help.

anyway, i'm a huge radiohead fan (obviously) and love the new album. much more accessible for non-fans to get into. thom seems to be changing back to his "relationship" subject matter and being less political.

A website using flash is much bigger overall, compared to a website even with tons of lines of code. So they'll still lose a lot more bandwidth.
..Not to mention some images not showing up.

Whatever floats their boat though.
