"So listen up closely, this could be my last" - I Had A Song For The Ages

This song, and especially this lyric, led me to believe that sf59 was over with TCOTG. Of course I remember being ridiculed on here for suggesting as much!  Wink

I would love for sf59 the name to continue forever, but in reality Jason IS sf59. Always has been. As long as he is releasing music I will be happy!

Awww... does he not check us out here? We're all kind of crazy for the band in each one's own way, and we're not an unsubstantial amount of people.

This is about the 15th time that I have read Jason Martin saying his latest SF59 album might be his last. Or it might not. Or he might go solo. He first said it in a Heaven's Metal interview after She's The Queen came out. Then he said Americana was supposed to be the last SF59 album. Then it was Everybody Makes Mistakes. Then Old. And on and on.

The music industry is pretty rough, so I don't think there is anything wrong with him being uncertain about what he is going to do. Like others have said, he doesn't owe us anything, really. I just don't think that we as fans should try to read anything in to it.

And how many bands/artists/etc have quit making music, broken up, said they are done, etc only to jump right back in a few years later? You never know what is going to happen.

Its hard to hear Jason sound so down about where the band has ended up. I think if he would have left Tooth and Nail right after "Leave here a Stranger" there would have been a better Indie Label that would have made them their Flagship Group. And he probably would have enjoyed more commercial success. I think Jason was far too affable when it came to Tooth and Nail, and there lack of real promotion and support for Starflyer. Its really too bad. Breaks my heart. Where is my guitar?...

wow he really detests videos. ha.
now it doesn't really matter so much unless you're a country artist.

i love film just as much as music so i may write a song and then visualize images to it.

glad he thought the mobile music rig was funny.

Yeah, he seemed to have this weird loyalty to Tooth and Nail, and I was never sure why.

Today I decided to search for SF interviews and the first one that popped up was from Jan 2010. He is asked about side projects and he mentions that he plans to work with Ryan Clark on something called Low and Behold. Anyone have any information on this person or project?

Low & Behold already put out a 12" maxi-single on Burnt Toast Vinyl. There's also a song on their myspace page that's not on the maxi-single, which makes me think there may be an album in the works.

Ah, I guess this totally missed my radar. I'll make a note to check it out.

Demon Hunter's pretty cool, but I can't say I care much for what I've heard of Low & Behold.

I agree that DH is cool. I'm holding out on L&B though, they might grow on me.
