I just put the first song I have finished mixing from the album I have been working on with my sister. It is called orange Revolution. Enjoy. The finished 11 song full length Loneliness is Dangerous should be available in June.

Thanks

What I heard of it sounds kickass. Looking forward to the new album.

Will it be released on VBM?

It is an experiment to see how many people would get the record once I eliminated the obstacle of paying for it. With manufacturing a physical album I would have to spend $2000-$3000 on making actually making cds and Then I would have to sell  300 cds at $10 just to break even. If I did that then I would have broke even and I would have 700 cds in my garage. Or maybe I would sell all of them? I just thought it would be neat to give it away. Hopefully friends will tell friends and it could get in the hands of a blogger or a Sirius Satellite DJ and get more fans? Who knows maybe we will only get 11 downloads or maybe we will get 10,000?

I think that's really cool. Since it's getting easier to get true CD-quality music online, I really have no problem just burning off my own discs. Makes me feel a little involved with the music...kind of like playing vinyl does, but with completely different actions involved!

Josh -
Dig the song and the economics you mention of releasing a record indie are really helpful from a consumer/fan point of view - I think many of us have a romantic view of the life of the indie artist, but as any of us who live the bohemian life can tell you its never that easy!

I hope this project works out for you and the economics of releasing a song digital only really pays off. I imagine its like anything else - you still have to promote it. And that cant be easy with a recession and a fan base with limited funds - I, for one, don't buy music anymore, not when I have student loan debts, limited employment and my own creative projects to work on.

I hope the new album comes together and is something you are proud of and I hope this model of putting out music is a viable alternative.
