I remember reading that it was just a name that he thought sounded cool (at the time) but now thinks it sounds kinda dorky. I think he wishes he could re-name but its too late now. I like it though. My initials are S.F. and when I'm 59, I'm going to sign everything as SF59!

I've heard that the band was briefly called Starflyer 2000, back before Jason had recorded any songs.

And then he started a band with Leigh Bingham called Starflyer 2000, that lasted all of one song.

I thought that was just a song name, not a band?

I think it was a band name. In the Rainbow Rider CD I had Ronnie wishes Jason "Good luck with his new band Starflyer 2000". I guess the only thing that ever came out of it was "Leigh and me (The Starflyer 200 reprise).

Yeah, just about to say.
Though I do not remember where I also read this info from..

SF59 sounds.. unique.
SF2K sounds cheesy, dorky, geeky, and star trek-y. Tongue

Maybe it was the early, abortive attempt at a project like Bon Voyage. Of course I like Bon Voyage better. Wink

I don't really like Sixpence non the richer, but I didn't like BV when I first heard Julie's voice. But I like it now...

I love Sixpence None the Richer and Leigh Nash, though still can't get used to Bon Voyage's vocals, a bit too annoying, high pitched and "girly" for me.

Anyways. Tongue
