Back in 96, I had a dream that Starflyer was playing at my work's Christmas party. In my dream they were playing carols in their signature style and when I woke up, I thought that it would be amazing if they actually recorded a whole Christmas album.
I love the songs that they've done on the Happy Christmas compilations. If they could do about 6 more, then I'd have my wish!

What a great idea! I've loved their Christmas tunes as well over the years. They've always worked their way into Christmas mix CDs I've made. Along with Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time Is Here" (from Charlie Brown Christmas).

OK, Jason, do it! It would be a timeless classic!

In the spirit of this, does anybody have all 4 Christmas tunes from Starflyer so far? Could they put them on CD or on the web?

I seem to remember that there were also some other christmas songs that starflyer posted on their myspace a couple years ago. But i may have been confusing it with map becuase dooley was mentioning them on the VBM boards, and he was very heavily involved with starflyer at the time.

there is also the bon voyage cover of holly jolly christmas as well.

I've got all of them. If someone were to hypothetically want these tracks, I might hypothetically be able to share the first three.

Starflyer's version of "Christmastime is Here" is available on iTunes, part of "Happy Christmas", which is just "Happy Christmas Vol 4" sans the songs by the non-T&N artists (Eisley, Switchfoot, Relient K, Copeland).

Darn.

Oh well, I'll just buy the CDs. Curious to hear the other Christmas songs by artists I'm familiar with anyway.

Actually, now that I think about it, Starflyer's song on the first Happy Christmas was "A Holiday Song" from The Fashion Focus.

Yay, that means I have heard one. Tongue

I just heard "Christmas Time Is Here", pretty cool. Reminds me of Earthsuit since this may very well be the most "Kraftwerk-sounding" song SF59 ever made. (it is as far as I know)

The SF59 Christmas songs were the only reason I bought the last 2 Happy Christmas CDs. The first 2 cds are great all the way through.

There's a guitar riff on "I'll be home for Christmas" at the very end of the song that sounds very much like a riff off of Leave Here a Stranger. Anyone else who has the song know what I'm talking about? I've never been able to place it but I'm sure he used the same one..........I don't know, now that I listened to it again, maybe not. Anyway, I love Christmas music and Starflyer does it well.

What archive? Wink

I have Happy Christmas 1-3 now and might have the song from the 4th HC soon; I'm not sure what is in these mysterious .zip files yet, but will keep everyone posted.
