I went last night to see David Bazan play (which btw was so good...if he comes to play near you you need to go see him)
I got a chance to talk to him briefly before the show
I asked him if him and Jason Martin would ever do an album together
he said they have talked about it
but doubts it will ever happen
they aren't in a place where they can put the money or the time into any projects that won't help provide for their families (aka sell)
i told him i'd buy it
he said thanks
but it did seem as though they will continue to write together on each other's albums
so that's atleast something

this doesn't appeal to me.  I saw Bazan on tour with SF59 as paperback or something like that, and he was surly and used some strong language and made some ignorant remarks on stage.

his music isn't nearly good enough to justify his attitude.

At least he's not passive-aggressive like some  Smiley

Personally, I've always enjoyed Bazan's shows, but to each their own.

Thanks for sharing, Matt. I am glad to hear that they will continue to write together.

I haven't always agreed with what he has said or done - but i think he is a great songwriter, a great lyricist and i respect his honesty and openess

I tweeted him a few days ago about it and he said:

"no firm plans, but possible, even probable"

I responded that it would be great if Richard Swift was involved somehow, too. I'm not aware of any Bazan/Swift friendship, but they both know Jason and TW Walsh.

PS Wasn't there a Strange Negotiations thread where we talked about this? I can't find it.

Bazan has played in my town quite a few times over the past four years, but for one reason or another, I've never been able to go.

I went to a sf59 show on the Old tour.
Fantastic show, but the sound was horrible.

Bazan opened for Jimmy Eat World last year so I went to see them both in OKC and got lost to the venue and completely missed the Bazan show.  Bummer.
