I've spent the last couple of days at http://www.750words.com and am loving it. If you write, blog, journal, have a diary or just jot once in awhile, you should check it out.

~It's private and for your eyes only. So, there's no performance or wondering what others think.
~No editing, unless you really, really want to.
~It's there to get at least 750 words out of your head each and every day.
~Once those words start flowing, other creativity happens.
~Just check it out and try it and see what you think.

Could you do all of the above in Google Docs, Microsoft Word or even a simple Notepad? Yes! But, they don't time you, give you a running word count that easy to view and monitor, nor does it give you the incredible insights into your writing style. It will tell you your mood, what voice and what senses you use and so much more.

If you try it, let me know what you think.

3 pages is not a lot once you start doing it. I've been writing my 750 in less than 20 minutes each morning. I just let my thoughts roll out as they come to me. It's a great way to empty my head.

It's also nice to have the stats every day. It lets me know my mood and POV.

Well, since I signed up, I have written at least 750 words every day for 11 days. 10,264 to be exact! I'm quite proud of myself.

You all should try this.

I did it successfully for two nights and I did enjoy it, but I've slacked off since then, though I blame excessive tiredness (which is a gift really) the first night and just having my laptop dead since then. It's journaling in bed or not at all, haha.

I did enjoy the stats you get for a nerdy kind of incentive. Whenever I've tried journaling in the past I've always felt so cheesy, even though it's not even for anybody else's benefit, and getting to see the stats at the end kind of helped me get over that.

I know the author says it's more for daytime writing but I find it more beneficial at night for emptying my head of the day's thoughts and worries, because I'm that kind of person. When I get a replacement laptop power supply I'll definitely pick this up again.
