Interesting. Good sounding, nice voice.

I like "Down & Out", sort of sounds like a combination of Jars of Clay & Copeland.

I'd like to hear more. Smiley

i'm not sure when it will come out. it might be a little while.

working with jason was awesome. he is easily the most efficient musician i've ever worked with. we tracked 10 songs in 8 days, so...i had a great time with him! i'll never work with anyone else.

I like the sound of it, not so much the lyrics.

Sound is sort of old-ish, and whats old is now new, so I like. Smiley

thanks. sorry you don't like the lyrics. that's just me venting out at the frat-daddy, sorority girl culture. i live in a college town where it's almost impossible to play anywhere without having to do cover songs.

i mean, i just don't get it. don't these people know that buddy holly is from here? apparently not.

icepick!

Sorry for the extremely late reply. Tongue

By "not so much the lyrics" I meant the point behind the lyrics rather than the words of the song.
I should have a warning label for an avatar because I most of the time have my 'standards' and 'how it should be' too high. For example, I believe artists have more better things to sing rather than stuff you'd hear on most radio stations, or almost all albums really. (not speaking directly at you, just music in general)

I think you can do better. As an artist you have the people paying attention to you, giving their time to listen to what you can say or play. Depending on what kind of artist you are, there are different definitions to what I'd like to think as 'how it should be'. For example if you're an artist who is an artistic artist, paint them a picture with your words. And if you are a something I'd like to call a 'live artist', show them your art. And of course if you are a 'lyrical/thinker artist', you could sing a sentence that would hit people in the head, maybe one that would otherwise take years to realize.  Of course that's just examples from the top of my head, but you get the point.

If I remember correctly, you said you make music because you like to and that you like to sing, well there are even better news, doing that (aka being an artist) does not limit you from anything, music is possibly the most 'free' thing there is, it's your choice where you take it and what you do with it. wow, that IS a late reply, haha.

i really appreciate your input.

i think the way people write and percieve music is different for every person on earth. if someone doesn't like something i've written, it doesn't make me angry. i just know that that person has never walked a day in my shoes.

i wrote that song after having one bad experience after another living in a college town where you're pretty much invisible as a musician unless you actually play "freebird." i was angry, and those are the first words that came to mind. i felt like i really nailed that one, haha...no pun intended.

so yeah. if you don't like that song i've got 9 more on the new record that you might like. jason martin plays on it, too. so that's neat, right?

in fact, i asked him if he was offended by that song, and he said "absolutely not...i've written those songs before."

please don't give up on me, and i won't give up on you!

i really do appreciate your input.
