This is a great idea for a forum.
Yep, this song seals the deal for me. First one I ever heard from SF59 and because of that, there are emotional attachments that others might not have. However, I feel that I can be objective in stating that it's otherworldly in it's feel. His vocals kick in strong, yet subdued at the same time, after those loud guitars. A style most have never heard before.
Great stuff!
p.s. Will we be seeing a new thread every week for the other songs?

Yes! New threads each time, once a week, though that doesn't mean discussion has to end for the previous song. The week just gives most everybody ample time to contribute and mull over the song before moving on. And we could count remixes and alternate versions as their own units, if they're sufficiently different (e.g., Blue Collar Love Dub Mix Yes, Give Up The War Stereo Mix No, Live Tracks Probably Not).
I'll gather some thoughts about this song later.

At a song a week, it's going to typically take over 2 months to get through one album.
I get the point about not rushing it and giving people more time to contribute, but that seems like it'll get a bit excessive. Either way, thanks for putting this together.

I think it helps keep people talking. Especially with this drought of material and news coming out.

A style most have never heard before. Yeah. At the time, shoegazing was much more of a British scene than an American one. And even then, this song (and most of Silver, really) was not straight shoegaze — that was just the closest label and it stuck. For what it's worth Jason himself said that "The Zenith" was the only real shoegaze song he ever wrote.

Blue Collar Love was the song that got played at just about every Starflyer show in the early days. The thing that made it so catchy was the groove that it had.
Why not just do a song per day? At that rate you'd probably still be discussing songs in three or four months.

This song sounds far too mean to be a "love song". lol Awesome stuff.. just maybe a little too sad, especially the live. Love the breakdowns in live..

This was the perfect song to start of Silver and to kick off Starflyer's epic run. I don't always like the live versions of songs but this was one I definitely really dug from Plugged. Especially the little riff that Jason inserted in the middle. But with the original, the feedback, the (I'm a pianist not a guitarist so forgive me if I screw this up) delay on the guitar, the major 7 chords, the breaks, the solo, everything about this particular song. When I listen to it, more than probably any other song on this album for me, it's like revisiting an old friend and going back to the good old days. Definitely a great starting bookend to the Starflyer discography.

I love the fact Twin Sister ripped of the opening riff of this for a bridge of You're No Good To me Dead (or was it Slave One?)

and for all you guys who have no idea what i am talking about... and the part in question is at 04:05 and for all you guys who have no idea who Twin Sister was, they were a side project of Tragedy Ann that was started between Sometime Sunday and Tragedy Anne. so obviously they lifted the song cause they are all aware of starflyer. sometime sunday probably played many a time with Starflyer back then anyway... its just humorous is all.

If that isn't a ripoff I don't know what is. Well placed though in the song.

If I'm not mistaken for the early shows "Blue Collar Love" was the last song Starflyer would play in the set. I wish we still had that live video from Heavenly Jams or whatever it was called.
