So, Ebay member "toezer" is selling the HM magazine issue number 64 with SF59 on the cover for only $3.99
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HM-Magazine-64-Heavens-Metal-Christian-Rock-Starflyer-59-/320834063944?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item4ab3334e48#ht_500wt_1413

meanwhile...

"knottplug" is selling the "Visions of Gray" issue with SF59 on the cover for a much higher price of $29.99!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Visions-Gray-July-1994-STARFLYER-59-Under-Midnight-/220940488598?pt=Magazines&hash=item3371144f96#ht_876wt_1392

Is "Visions of Gray" really a rare item to find? I don't know, I never followed the "zine scene" much.

Side note: knottplug's other items for sale appear to be mostly, or all, Christian in nature, and the username suggests that they are a fan of Michael Knott, and, as such, they are probably pretty aware of the alternative and indie sides of Christian music. But, still, that does seem to be a lot for a magazine.

I doubt that there's actually a market of people that would buy "rare" $30 Christian music zines.  It's probably just someone who wants to get lucky so that they throw something up on eBay at an expensive pricetag hoping that someone will bite since Starflyer has a loyal cult following.  Stuff like that happens on eBay all the time.  Watch how music the price will drop if it doesn't sell for a while.

On a sidenote, that's a pretty cool picture on the HM that I've never seen before.

If the visions of gray was like $15 I would buy that.

Still have a bunch of VoGs, 7balls and Syndicates...they are treasures of the past that most don't remember...maybe not $30, but yeah $15 for sure...some really cool stuff that never was archived properly into the digital age.

Quote from: the auction description
The magazine was published as a tabloid style publication on inexpensive newsprint paper.  Consequently, they tended to wear out quickly if not preseved carefully, and the paper yellows with age.  Back issues don't seem to show up very often on eBay (or anywhere else, for that matter!).

I think that explains it somewhat.
