I was pretty shocked when my sealed LHAS vinyl sold for $113. I was expecting nearer to half of that. I haven't been checking eBay compulsively for their stuff lately like I used to, so I'm curious if other releases have also ballooned in their price? And who's paying for this stuff? Have all the teenage kids who used to go to Starflyer shows grown up and become lawyers?

I assume The Drop is still the most expensive item, with Gold LP in second, maybe with EMM and Fashion Focus vinyl next. Plugged used to fetch a hefty price, but it seems less so since VBM repressed it. Is this all still the case? Gold vinyl and The Drop are the only things I don't have. What are they going for these days? (I kick myself thinking of all the chances I had to buy Gold for $20...) How often do those two still come up for bids?

Any other crazy-rare items that are floating around out there?

Don't forget the orginal Plugged. Still sealed, it would bring a hefty amount too.

I haven't seen it, or EMM w/7" or the Gold LP in a long time. There was a while on Ebay, probably a few years ago where those were quite common.

Nowadays, I don't even seen the Americana LP very much.

As far as I know, almost no one sells their Ghosts of the Future 7" series, either the colored vinyl or the black.

That was me on the LHAS vinyl.  I'm slightly embarrassed at the total, but I had a bunch of extra Christmas money and my favorite record ever was there for the taking.  And I'm not a lawyer, just a beginning therapist who has to work two jobs to make ends meet.

On a total sidenote, I just realized the other day that my office is right next to the Tooth and Nail offices.  As in, I can sometimes pick up their wifi signal.  I looked out the back window the other day and I swear I saw Ebel walking around talking on his cell.  (Also, there's always a Porsche in the parking lot. Boo.)  All of this would be significantly cooler if any cool bands were still on their roster.  SF59 was the last to go, IMHO.

I'm after stickers and buttons now. But it is a very rare day they show up. Anyone want to sell me some? As far as most expensive. I would imagine it is gold or The Drop but with Gold being repressed possibly the value will drop.

To be honest though there are a few of us that do the Test Press thing. If a test press came up for Gold or Americana on e-bay I wouldn't bat an eye at dropping $400 on it.

Also I didn't grow up to be a lawyer just a shitty designer. But I married a Doctor for the money and the ability to drop obscene amounts on Starflyer stuff.

Just Kidding. I married her cause I love her.

How do you tell the original from the repress? I have two copies of the original and one of the repress, but I can't tell the difference.

From what I understand there is absolutely no difference what so ever. The same artwork was sent out etc.  So since you really can't tell the difference you now have 3 originals !!!!!!!

As I stated in the other "Plugged" thread located here http://www.sf59fans.com/forum/index.php/topic,740.0.html

Honestly, I can't remember how to tell the difference between the original and the re-release. But, if I recall, the grey/silver colors for the band name and title were a bit more faded for the original.

Been doing some research online and found this gem from 8 years ago. "The Drop" sold on Ebay in February of 2004 for $275!

I paid around $250 the first time I bought that. Then I think $175 for my second copy.

Just last week a german seller was selling sealed EMM LP with 7" for $40 on Discogs, didn't need to think twice.. Tongue After submitting my order I asked if he was an original owner or if not, where had he found this item sealed. He never answered this, hopefully everything is as promised when this treasure arrives next week.

Still missing Gold LP, The Fashion Focus LP w/ 7" and The Drop, of course. Never cared much for The Last Laurel EP but maybe should pick it up to complete my collection. Oh, and the cassettes are the must-haves..  Wink
