I asked Jason Martin if we could have a monthly question-and-answer session with him; it would be sort of like the 'ask ronnie' section on joyelectric.com/community but probably less work for him. What we'll do every month is compile 10-15 answers which I will send to Jason, then he'll answer them and we'll paste them here. That way he doesn't have to take time out of his busy schedule to monitor the forum, and we don't have to keep ending conversations with 'I wonder what Jason would say if he were here'.

So...Post your questions for Jason Martin here, and once we get 10-15 of them, I'll send them to Jason and we'll see what happens!

Do you own all your own works? I know that some artists I've met don't even own some of the original, out of print stuff.

Case in point: A couple of years ago, on Ebay, I saw The Drop 7" come through and it sold for just under $200.00. The username that bought it I believe had Martin in the name. Was that you or a family member?

Thanks,

Adam

Will there ever be a Joy Electric/Starflyer tour?

It is true that Jason is a shy person?

How many Jason Martin side projects are there?

What can Jason tell us about Neon Horse?

Are there any plans to tour with a full band again?

Will there be a CD version of Ghosts of the Future?

What are Jason's top five records of all time and in the last year?

Is Jason satisfied with what his band has accomplished?

What is Jason's favorite record that he's made and why?

Will Starflyer last forever? Can he break up with himself?

Does Jason's smoking affect his singing voice?

No, but some (most?) songs will be on future albums.
That's the answer I got from SF59's myspace.

Does he smoke? If he does, I can't tell.

I'd like to know more about how Jason started all his music.  Some rough questions:
- At what point did you know you were going to become a music artist?
- What was your first ever song, completely made by you and you alone?

I dunno, questions like that. ?

What is it like getting to work with such a varied revolving cast of supporting musicians?

i'd like to know whether jason still keeps a day job, or if he makes a living off of his music.
