1. What are you planning on doing next after Dial M?.
1. Not sure yet, Dial M won't be out until October...I have a couple of different project ideas I'm working on, but hopefully do another Starflyer full length...my goal is to put out 20 full lengths then quit:)
2. Will there be new tracks on the MySpace page any time soon?
2. I would say sometime in the next few months we will put up some new songs.
3. I'd like to know a little about Enemy Ships' The Emergency. It's too cool an album never to have been released.
3. That was a weird thing, we got signed to Atlantic, got a big budget to do a record, and then it was just shelved...I did like a couple of songs that were on it, but you know...easy come, easy go.
4. You've been working on a lot of other projects as producer / mixing and mastering recently. What have been some of your favourite artists to work with?
4. Ya, it's been great..I love all aspects of the recording side of music and have been getting a lot of work lately doing that for other people, alot of the bands have been long time SF59 fans, so it has been cool getting to know these people and working on their songs.
5. How/Where did you ask Julie to marry you?
5. Man, I kinda forget...we knew we wanted to get married after dating for a couple of weeks...everything after that is kind of a blur:)
6. I remember reading somewhere a while back that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club asked you to play some shows with them, but you said no because y'all had made prior commitments. Is this true?
6. Yes, unfortunately that was true...we should have for sure tried a bit harder to make those shows happen...that was like 8 years ago now, what can you do.
7. Do you like John Steinback? or were you into him when you made Silver ("Canary Row", "Salinas")?
7. Ya, but to be honest there was no connection...I just liked that area, and also liked the sound of the names.
8. Any thoughts on Paul Meany and Adam Laclave's bands (Earthsuit, Mute Math, Macrosick/Club of the Sons)?
8. I have never heard any of it...sorry.
9. Are you particularly proud or fond of any of the Dial M session songs?
9. You know, it's really typical for a band to think their newest record is their best...But I am really happy with the way the new record turned out, and I would say It is my favorite record we have done since the Fashion Focus.
10. Have you been listening to any really good music lately?
10. I'm always listening to something, mainly from a recording / production standpoint...I'm really into "the Band" right now..but my tastes change on a weekly basis, and I pretty much like a bit of everything depending on my mood.
