Family photo sharing blog?

I've been looking for a solution to share photos online across the family. Not just to send photos across, but to have a system with some small amount of members (who will only be family members) share their pictures (maybe even post videos?), and so forth.

A blog is the first thing that came to mind, but most blogs do not let you create more users and have them be able to post enteries.
I'd also like to keep this blog/site private and member-login only - which blogs do not have as far as I know.


Perhaps someone knows of a solution or is looking for something similar?

WordPress allows you to create as many users as you want, and you can keep the blog fully private so that only logged in users can see the content. I don't know if wordpress.com has all of this functionality, but I do know that the software can do it.

Just kidding. Well, it took a day or two for me to find the theme I'm using...basically I searched the WordPress themes page and didn't find anything, so I Googled 'wordpress 2.3 themes' and kept hunting around until I found one I liked. Not really scientific, I'm afraid.

I would like to do a family blog like this, but most of my family members only know how to share photos and not videos.

If you have your own host like I, you can just upload videos and have people download them. Or install a plugin so everyone can stream the video(s).
