The first thing I ever saw from either Martin was the video of "Monosynth".

Though I definitely liked Jason before I liked Ronnie.

Jason Martin.....and for the record I never could get into Joy Electric. The one thing that I did like though was the slide whistle thing he did on his song on the She's the Queen EP. I'm not sure what it is that makes me not a fan, it could be his vocals...

If you're like me, it's the plastic drums and plastic everything else. Tongue

The only 2 songs I've ever liked by Ronnie were "The Works of Unknowns" and "Song for All Time".

Saw an ad for "Robot Rock" in CCM magazine(Embarrassed) in 1997 and became interested. So, one for Ronnie.

What was once: Jason - 5; Ronnie - 4...is now tied up. I heard "We Are Rock" (from The White Songbook) on the radio back in 2001. Exposure to Starflyer sadly didn't come until about a year or so later, on the Extreme Days soundtrack ("No New Kinda Story").

I'm in the same boat - the Pastor's kids at the church we were attending at the time were wearing SF 59 t-shirts, and loaned us Silver.  My son got hooked, and turned me on as well.  Monosynth was the first JE tune I heard as well.  I'm more of a guitar rock kinda guy, but really enjoy JE's "heavier stuff" as well.  I really like JE's cover of the SF 59 song - it was on the She's The Queen EP - forget the name, but it rocked!

Stay away from stereolab!

I discovered SF59 before JE. Although, JE came not so long after SF59. A friend of mine used to pick me up for school in the morning and she was playing "CHRISTIANsongs" and I thought "this is stupid music", but I later liked it and bought it. "CHRISTIANsongs" was my only JE CD for a while. Then I got "TWSB" a little later on. Funny, in late 2001 I went and bought S59's back cataloge off of T&N's website and bought 1 JE CD. Plus, I got a "leave here a stranger" poster. Because I bought so much SF59 they threw in a "Everybody makes mistakes" poster and my recept said "SF59 rules!" on it. Oh happy day! and indeed they do rule!
