Yes, the one that's big and red and marked 'do not press under any circumstances'. That one.

Actually, it's the SQL database password. Do not touch that under any circumstances, even if you THINK you know it. I didn't. Smiley

Thankfully, there was a backup of that file, so I was able to restore it.

You pick the password for the SQL database when you setup SMF. And can change it anytime, but you will need to first change it on the forum and then on the database. If vice versa, forum won't be able to connect to the database. Smiley

Ah. Well, the software that set it up for me apparently decided on a random string for the SQL database password. At least somehow a backup file of the setup.php file was made!

Well you can still change it. But like I said, change it on the forum setting before changing it on the MySQL page.
