The Richard Swift Collection Vol. 1 is excellent. I had ordered it from Velvet Blue a few months ago but didn't listen to too much of it at the time. The last couple weeks though Walking Without Effort has been in constant rotation. Beautifulheart is such a great song.

I love Walking Without Effort. I think it's Swift's best stuff.

Company was a band that Swift was in, back when he was using the name Dickey Ochoa and playing in Crystal Lewis' backing band. If I remember correctly, Frank Lenz and Jyro Xhan were also in the band.

Jason Martin told me that he goes by the name "Dickie" or was it "Dicky?"

Alright, Swift has a new full-length album coming out this Tuesday: The Atlantic Ocean.

Somehow, my local record store had a promotional copy in the "buy 3 cd's for $10" section. I'm listening to it right now and I like it.

I downloaded as onasis from emusic a while back and it was the first thing done by swift that I absolutely HATED.  there is a free download ep called ground trouble jaw that came out at the same time.  It is also pretty bad.

the set of 7" vinyls and the first three albums are all great, great stuff, and the company is a truly excellent worship album, and the dicky ochoa stuff is forgivable as it is CCM, but as onasis and ground trouble jaw are just way out there.

instruments of science and technology is totally a different ballgame, all electronic, droney, no vocals to speak of...

Well, I thought the last two tracks of Ground Trouble Jaw EP were as good as classic Swift, and "Lady Luck" wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. Incidentally, all three of those tracks made it onto The Atlantic Ocean.

I never even bothered with Richard Swift As Onasis. The two tracks that Swift put up for free download were sort of interesting when I thought they were random b-sides that didn't go with anything, but Swift lost me when he announced that he was putting out an entire double-EP in that style.

Richard Swift recorded some tracks for Daytrotter: [here].

And [here] is an older Daytrotter session.
