This thread is for a listing of rarities/b-sides/unreleased SF59 songs. Songs from the box set will be included, even though their inclusion on the box set makes them "less rare."

"Sin for a Season" (pre T&N track appearing on "I Predict a Clone: A Steve Taylor Tribute")
"Lord I'm Gonna Love You" (appearing on Keith Green tribute album "Start Right Here")
"Dromedary Theme" (original track accompanied a story by J. Edward Keys at velvetbluemusic.com)
"We Got a Word" (from Plastiq Musiq's "Electric Music Compilation 1")
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (Happy Christmas vol. 2)
"I'll be Home for Christmas" (Happy Christmas vol. 3)
"Christmas Time is Here" (Happy Christmas vol. 4)
"I Just Wanna Be You" (Jason Martin performed this on "Browbeats Presents Wither Wing")
"The Sheriff" (Demo downloadable from the Old Recording Journal back when Cloud was writing the journal)
"The Sheriff" (Demo version of "Major Awards", appears on "Old Demos")
"Old" (demo version, appears on "Old Demos")
"Underneath" (demo version, appears on "Old Demos")
"Elijah the Prophet" (on bonus 7" with The Fashion Focus vinyl)
"Never Had a Name" (on bonus 7" with The Fashion Focus vinyl)
"Your Company" (on bonus 7" with Everybody Makes Mistakes vinyl)
"Prepare to Detour" (on bonus 7" with Everybody Makes Mistakes vinyl)
"I was 17" (track originally intended for Americana, appears ECEG)
"All Done Wrong" (cut from Everybody Makes Mistakes, appears on ECEG)
"When No One Calls" (from Goodbyes are Sad 7", appears on ECEG)
"Everyone but Me" (alternate version, probably a demo, of the song from Americana, appears on the ECEG)
"Wherever You Go (First Space Song)" (demo intended for Gold, appears on ECEG)
"Shedding the Mortal Coil" (intended for EMM, appears on "When Worlds Collide" (DA tribute) and ECEG)
"Leigh and Me" (originally on "Artcore," re-made and re-titled "The Starflyer 2000 Reprise" on Le Vainqueur)
"Troubles" (appearing on "Portuguese Blues" vinyl)
"He'll Leave Me Alone" (appearing on "Portuguese Blues" vinyl)

This list may have some omissions and/or errors. If anyone's been a fan long enough to help with some details, or if you can add any more, please do so.

Last month, there was a remix of "Pearl of Great Price" on the SF59 myspace. It wasn't downloadable, and it's gone now.

If you want to be supernitpicky technical, the original version of "Leigh and Me" was performed by Starflyer 2000, aka Leigh Bingham and Jason Martin.

Any idea how to get ahold of those Old demos?

Also, is the original version of "Theme From Dromedary" any different from the version on the Can't Stop Eating EP?

Yes, there is quite a difference. Both are nice, but I prefer the Can't Stop Eating version because of the awesome sounding guitar work near the end.

'Rare' tracks...it's great when you have them, but it's not so fun when you're on the other side. Sad

It's Ok when they are rare for some time and then you get really happy when they are finally released on a compilation etc.
Those people with the original 7"s or else can still be happy about their still rare releases.
So everyone's happy in the end...

Don't forget the Portuguese Blues Vinyl only tracks.  I don't know if that counts for this list.

I had forgotten those. They're added to the list above so that it's a "complete" list.

Thanks.

Is anyone interested in setting up something similar to the archive that they have over at the Earthsuit Legacy?  I would love to have access to some of these rare tracks without spending $15 on eBay for a comp with one SF59 song.  (I wouldn't think the ECEG tracks should be included since those are very easy to come by.)   Do we even have these tracks?  (I've got quite a few.)  Would we need to elicit the help of some people over at the VBM site?
I don't really know how to do such things, that's why I'm throwing it out there.
