I don't think everyone is immediately going to switch to Blu-Ray. First of all, not everyone has a high definition TV and secondly not everyone can afford $20 for a DVD.

No HDTV for me unless my analog TV goes out. That might be a while, as it's a nice Panasonic unit with very little use. So we might upgrade in five or ten years. Grin

$20 for a DVD? Nope. I'd buy them used.

The bigger switch going on in technology will be the end of analog TV and the transition to digital television. I'm still waiting for my converter box.

We have ours already--Comcast was sending them out for 'free' last year to get people to switch. It's all right--On Demand is cool for the kids, and sometimes we'll see a free movie, occasionally rent one.

When is that analog-to-digital transition supposed to happen? It's been pushed forward a few times.

So yeah, The Foxglove Hunt released a single on a floppy! How 'bout that?

It should be a good album. I hope I don't go nuts trying to decide what FORMAT to buy it in!  Roll Eyes

What's a floppy disc again? Didn't vinyl records make those obsolete?

No, that was 8-track.

I find TV enjoyable as the next person when there's something good on, but aren't these new TV prices ridiculous? I know people want to enjoy TV at home, but I personally don't enjoy TV any less because I'm watching an older TV. Why is there a continual need in our society to promote a corporate lust for the next big thing?

Yes,

It's one of my favorite releases of the year so far.  If you haven't gotten it yet, you can get it from amazon mp3 for about 9 bucks.  Well worth it.

There was one song on the MySpace page that was pretty catchy.
