Yep.

Y'all heard about this, right? It didn't surprise me. But it saddens me, though. He was easily one of the all-time greats.

I've been waiting for this for 17 years. This year was pretty sweet though because the Bears beat the Packers twice and the Giants beat them in the championship game in Lambeau with Favre throwing the interception that led to the game-winning field goal. I know he's a good quarterback, but I still don't like him and I'm glad that his love affair with the media will finally be over.

Gah, just what I need. Another Chicago fan. Shouldn't the event you be waiting for be the day when the Pack runs out of business? Of course, then there'd be no stupid rivalry. Wink

Interesting how he mentioned his faith, although I was hoping for a little more elaboration.

George Halas of the Bears practically invented the NFL. Brett Favre was a great quarterback, but he only won 1 Super Bowl. I don't care for the Packers and I don't care for the Favre hysteria. He set many NFL records, but people act like he was the Michael Jordan of football and he wasn't. He probably wasn't even as good as John Elway.

I have never been good at debating/arguing, but I sorta can't see where you're coming from. All I can say about Brett is: The records speak for themselves. He played long and played hard, regardless of how up-to-par the rest of the team was (which unfortunately equated to that lone Super Bowl victory).

John WHO-way? You mean that guy who tried to sell me a flat-screen HDTV during my Scrubs commercial break? (Or was it Dave Marino?)

The reason for my quasi-anti-Bears thinking: Both my dad, sister, and entire side of my dad's family are purty big Chicago fans. Being the lone 49ers fan gets...well, lonely after awhile.

Hmm. Michael Jordan...wonder what team he played for? Lips sealed

John Elway was the guy who beat Brett Favre in the Super Bowl in 1998. Do you remember that game? How old were you in 1998?

For the record I was six. But I do remember watching the Bowl that year, believe it or not.

Yes, shame on you. Wink

And I'm far from "little." Make that six foot, two inches.

I'm about 6'5" or 6'6," it all depends on the shoes.

Strange. I don't know any guys who wear high heels. Lips sealed

Anyway. Back on topic. Wonder if Brett will become a sportscaster/commentator... I think he'd be really good at it.

Nix that. "When asked about what he was going to do next, Favre simply said, 'Nothing.'" Good for him.
