Laughable acting. I'll still see it though.

Why?
Why can't musicians stick to making music? Why do they always "branch out" by trying to be actors or celebrity activists or sushi chefs or whatever?
(David Bowie excepted. His performance as Nicola Tesla in The Prestige was great.)

The premise indeed looks interesting. The acting...not so much.

Yeah, the acting in the trailer was bad. It's difficult to make a quality Christian film that isn't the Passion of the Christ or Veggie Tales.
What I wonder is how with all the DC Talk fans here this movie mysteriously eluded all of you.

Why? Three words. Will Smith $$$$$$$$$$ Would anyone remember his rap career if Will Smith hadn't successfully transitioned to acting?

Is this about that April Fools thing? That was me. It was a joke. I do like Supernatural and I really like Jesus Freak, but I'd hardly consider myself a fan of the band.

What I wonder is if the movie is supposed to be about the Newsboy's singer?

it's hard to tell from the trailer how good the acting is. i think the problem might be the editing. there are a lot of pauses that make it almost awkward, but those moments might be necessary for the scenes. and coupled with the appropriate background music, those scenes might be good.
that said, i'm still a little skeptical. i think the idea's great, almost like the man with the golden arm of the christian industry. it's something that should be discussed, and i hope they've done it with tact.
