Has anyone ever thought of putting together a Starflyer documentary?

SF59 is awesome and make awesome music.

I don't see much to document there, unless the documentary will be 30 minutes long.
Starflyer 59 is a great band who has been around for a while, here are the albums. Oh and Jason Martin made an album with his brother. And is a part of the awesome Neon Horse. That's a wrap.

I do like the idea of a Starflyer Documentary though.

Considering how much J. Edward Keyes was able to write about Starflyer's history for Easy Come Easy Go, I think a decent-length documentary could easily be made.

I've actually already made a Starflyer DVD with some live footage and videos from the Brothers Martin YouTube page.

I would think you could do an hour about the band and have around 10 songs of concert footage. An hour video is a decent amount of work. The only question would be who to interview for the documentary. I don't know of many video interview that Jason Martin has done.

Well, let's discuss this and throw some ideas out there.

If you want to make a quality documentary, don't rely on existing material. Go out to California conduct your own interviews.

For what I've read, Jason has no problem talking about other subjects at length, but he gets really terse when he's the subject. So just ask Jason about The Smiths and Britpop and Gene Eugene, and go track down the former member of SF59 to get info about the history of the band.

I'd like to do it, but maybe it's just wishful thinking. A trip to California for a documentary which has the promise of no money is a difficult step.

I would need some help with an undertaking with this. An hour documentary is a big project for one guy.
