Don't know if they're "on" Velvet Blue, but VBM released two vinyls by The Broadway Hush last year. "Sun Songs" and "Moon Songs".

Their covers looked like Richard Swift drew them.

No, I meant TCJBR - the subject of this thread.  Tongue

And yes, Swifty did indeed draw the covers for those two TBH vinyls.

are her comments open to public viewing?

i became a fan when the second quite scientific ep came out. then i went back and got the page stuff. it was kinda weird how it seems he changes his vocal style, especially from that first pf record.

got their third qs ep and first suicide squeeze full length last yr, and just preordered their new one.

only thing i need is the first qs ep. anyone know where i can get a copy?

he seems to be a pretty prolific songwriter.

I'm seeing them live for the first time on Friday, pretty excited because I love Paranoid Cocoon to death.  Love the art of the new album and can't wait to hear it as well.

I really loved The Archery EP and when I first got Paranoid I was disappointed...but then after a while it really clicked and I liked it quite a bit. They had an EP in the Laminar 3" series, but unfortunately I haven't been able to give it a good listen yet.

I got the new one on pre-order.

All I have to "add" to this topic is I wish they'd record as The Broadway Hush some more. :-/

The only difference I'm aware of is that Whitney always sings lead in BH, right?

She sang lead on one of the Rio Ranger tracks I believe.

Luckily, I was aware of their band at the time where they sold a homemade EP of BH songs - had a red ribbon that tied it together. 3 of the tracks were on those 2 VBM 7"s, so I only bought one to get the one song I didn't have.

I think that is supposed to be the primary difference, yes, though, I haven't listened much either to Page France or Cotton Jones, so there might have been some slight style differences I'm unaware of . . . I just really liked their songs.

Are you who set up the Q&A's with Jason?

I think he and Nau are friends. Maybe you can set up one with Cotton Jones and then ask them, "How do you define Broadway Hush?"

I think most of those songs were kinda in the "Tinpan Alley" type category, but then there have been PF/CJ songs like that, too, so the only consistant thing I know of BH songs is that Whitney sings lead on all of them.

At one time there was talk of a Cotton Jones VBM 7", but I guess it is on hiatus for the time being or forgotten.
