It's "Dial M". Like a phone dial. Or the Hitchcock film, Dial M For Murder.
Anyway, I really like Leave Here a Stranger, Old, Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice, and Dial M. And all the packaging associated with Ghosts of the Future, though I have no idea which would be considered the cover.
As for my favorite, I'll have to give that one some thought.

Old - all the way. The cover is just made for the album to be called a classic or a masterpiece. Second choice would be The Fashion Focus.

i still stand by "le vainqueur". the packaging was a total draw, & i still like checking it out more than any other single i have ever purchsed. perhaps it was the total late 1600's painting detail contrasting all of the single color LP covers.
i would second the packaging for "old" as a contender.

I completely agree. I think Le Vainqueur and Old are the best. Generally I've never been that wowed by Starflyer artwork, but I really like those two covers. The Old cover is pretty amazing. Very telling.

I thought this was just about cover art. If this is about the whole packaging, then Ghosts of the Future wins, hands-down.

I think I made it so you could change your vote on the poll. Just in case you change your mind.

I chose Old, and the runners up are probably Le Vainqueur and Leave Here a Stranger. Overall, Starflyer never had very interesting artwork, especially compared to the art work on the Joy Electric albums. But I think that Starflyer does have (slightly) better music, so I guess it evens out.

I voted Gold, but on the condition we're voting on the whole packaging. I love the faux record labels.
If we were speaking strictly cover art, I'd say Old very closely followed by My Island.

We might as well say the whole packaging rather than just the cover art, otherwise there isn't much point in voting for albums like "Gold".

For full artwork I vote Gold for sure. Ghosts of the Future goes right along with it, because the labels are copies of the images inside the Gold booklet.
Cover alone, I vote LHAS.

I love the old cover, it has always been my favourite. But for some reason I just felt that the "I Win EP" deserved my vote. Becouse even though old is fantastic, the cover of I Win is a bit more artisitic and I imagine it has had more time put into it. When you think about it, the cover of leave here a stranger is just a photo of a desert. Sure it looks good, but I don't think it's the best of thier cover art. I really like the cover art of the I am the portugese blues vinyl album though, music aside I think its great.
