The new album is supposedly being produced by (drum roll, please) Daniel Smith! You know, that dude behind all those Danielson records?

If you haven't heard of these boys... I can't even begin to describe the level of insanity you possess.

That is news of the year #3 (first was Jon Sonnenberg producing Cut the Red Wire and second was Jon Sonnenberg mixing Joy Electric).

This could be an amazing amazing album.

I saw them in concert this summer. They were amazing. The first two albums are amazing; the third album is great, but not quite as good. Disaster Tourism is probably one of my favorite songs by them.

I've gotten into this band over the past day. I was totally sold by their live performance. I purchased their two most recent albums.

I am surprised to see that their '09 album was set to be produced by Daniel Smith. If that did happen (I don't have the cd in front of me right now to check) then the influence is apparent because it sounded a lot like Smith.

I'm listening to MwY's 2006 album right now and it is awesome. I love the album art on both of these discs.

I really, really like albums one to three. Four has not stuck with me, which is disappointing given how awesome I thought it would be with Smith producing. To be honest... I probably would not be any worse off if I hadn't bought it.

To answer your previous question (which is now disappeared)

Their live performance during their tour with Bazan was awesome and intense. I don't remember them playing many songs from their newest during that particular show. However, I saw them at Cornerstone a few weeks ago and their live set was a huge disappointment to me. They played a lot of songs from their newest. Those do not sound any better live than on the album. In fact, it sounded worse, imo. MwY was one of the main shows I wanted to see there so it was quite a letdown (except for when they played "A Glass Can Only Spill..." and 1 or 2 others) However, I did pick up their first two albums while at the fest and while I don't care much for [A-->B] Life I do really, really like Catch for Us the Foxes.
