I bought MF's Super Deluxe and From Dayton with Love used for $12 total. Neither really grabbed me. "Separate" is an amazing song, however.

Morella's Forest was marketed as a female Starflyer 59 back in the day.

Soulfood 76 started out in 1991 or 92 as Soulfood and released at least two demo tapes under that name. Their first demo, Let's Eat had the numbers 76 behind the logo, and the liner notes said "approved by the spirit of 76," but elsewhere on the tape they were just Soulfood (also on the demo after that called "7"). They were signed to the second incarnation of Broken Records in 94/95 and an album called Velour, but the label folded. They then released Velour as an independent CD in 1994. Their name by then had changed to Soulfood 76.  But I don't know why.  They were based in Seattle, I believe.  They were signed to Freedom records who released their debut album Original Soundtrack in 1996, and also released a re-mixed version of Velour with four new songs in 1997 and their third album 8-Track in 1998.

Random trivia which I sure many already knew.  I doubt the similarity was intended.

Daniel and Sam of Soulfood 76 were also in a band in the early 90's with Bill Power of Blenderhead called Gloria.  They had a song called "Pink Champagne" on the Songs From The Rain Factory Compilation (Fearless Donkey Records 1991).

Here is some more random trivia. Paul mumaw played drums in rose blossom punch with aaron spinkle from poor old lu/Fair. Aaron produced Soulfood's original soundtrack. Aaron's brother Jesse played drums for Morella's Forest and Starflyer. I didn't realize how much useless knowledge I  posses

Hmm.. Interesting. Even more so since SF76 and SF59 played together.

Yeah I was a fan of all of them and still have all the main SF76 stuff including both velour releases (the 2nd of which was a great record). I wouldnt mind picking up that other obscure stuff at some point if it were ever possible.

I only saw MF once (CS'98), and i only wish i had seen SF76 in concert, would have been a blast.

I think Mumaw might have done some solo stuff after 76 as well, but, not sure. Don't know what any of the others did after 8-track, I remember checking the 76 website every so often back in 98-01 hoping for something going on.
