Is this site supposed to be doing this? It is incredulous to me.
Okay, so, "Easy" turned really awesome.
I love what he did to "I Love You Like the Little Bird."

Is that a real cello on "Who Said It's Easy"? And "Mr. Martin"? EDIT: I think I finally have a handle on the current Starflyer era. To wit: - Thesis: The shoegazer/wall-of-sound rock of Silver through Americana.
- Antithesis: The pop and keyboards of The Fashion Focus through Leave Here a Stranger.
- Synthesis: Old balanced the rock of the first era with the keys of the second. Each album since has alternated which half gets emphasized: I am the Portuguese Blues (rock), Talking Voice vs Singing Voice (pop), My Island (rock), Dial M (pop).

Seriously. Just how legal is this? Well, I hate to say anything negative on this album since I've already done so much of that and it doesn't deserve so much negativity.. but.. I don't like it. I'll still get the album, I do like something about it, but just something I'd probably skip if ever a song comes up on shuffle. A lot of cool sounding parts, like Concentrate 's chorus music, and a lot of catchy themes for people to grab unto, but..

I haven't heard the whole thing yet, and I do like certain songs that I've heard, but it's not grabbing me. I'm not ready to say goodbye to Starflyer 59 as a band of talented artists just yet, though....I don't wanna. I just hope that they haven't lost it altogether. I will indeed get it, as I do like a good portion of it (what I've heard), but it's not quite EPIC.

I like the new extended version of Easy\Who Said it's Easy?. It makes me think of the extended guitar interlude part of "first heart attack" from Old, which always sort of reminded me of Pink Floyd.

Dually noted on 'the Drop' and the "OLD" call-back. I for one really enjoy it. I haven't always loved Starflyer but I think I always will.
I love the heavy synths, and dancier rhythms.

STARFLYER'S BEST ALBUM EVER.
There, I said it.
As for the legality of this: Relevant is sorta high-profile. They've nothing to gain and a lot to lose by streaming music illegally. Record labels allowing other music sites to stream new albums isn't that unusual. The label and band get free publicity, and the website gets more viewers -- it's win-win.
I predict that Pitchfork will review this album in the near future. The writer will spend half the review grousing about the fact that Jason's a Christian, before grudgingly admitting that it's worth a listen. He'll also compare Sf59 to Radiohead.

This album sorta sounds like The National, as well.

What sucks is when you order a test pressing of the vinyl and you still haven't received it and relevant starts streaming something you were supposed to hear weeks ago.

I totally agree! Didn't the description indicate the vinyl would be available to listen before everyone else? If so, that implies you've kind of paid to hear it before everyone else and that part wasn't fulfilled. I know that unforeseeable event can prevent the vinyl from going out on time, but if that is the case I think BTV should give you some of the purchase price back.

Right; the only thing that seems off to me is I don't see an announcement anywhere about the site streaming the album. It's sort of big thing, so it's weird how under-the-radar it appears to be right now. banks, how'd you come across it anyway? Anyway, some of the album felt "iffy" on the first listen, but I fell in love at 2nd listen. Loyalty to the demos was really the only thing standing in my way!

You really believe that? And I think Relevant is completely legal and credible, and that they've asked permission (and have been granted, obviously).
