No problem with multiple questions, but your first one has already been asked and answered. It's #16 here.

You should ask him about "Fiddler on the Roof".
is there a story behind that? I was hanging out with him before the Illinois show and he was talking about how his old man convinced him to watch Fiddler on the Roof.

I've been loving these questions for Jason. I've got a couple but it's cool if you only want to take one per person.
What's your writing process? Music first or lyrics first?
What's the story behind the song "Monster"?
If you had to choose one Starflyer 59 song to be known by - to be a hit single - what would it be?
There's an interview where he talks about your first question. Here's the link: http://truetunes.wordpress.com/2008/05/28/starflyer-59-interview-at-cornerstone-2002/ I think Fell in Love at 22 would be the most obvious single, but my guess would be that he might say No New Kinda Story, I Drive A Lot or Play the C Chord. He seems to be fond of any recording he did with Gene Eugene. If you could get him on tape it would be great to hear his impression of Gene Eugene. He said something about what Gene might have become had he gotten a Pro Tools rig. He also mentioned that he's reading "Fast Food Nation" and that he enjoys In-N-Out Burger, but can no longer handle the Double-Double.

[/quote] He said he didn't like it at first, but now he thinks it's great. He talked about how later in the movie it's no longer a musical.

Have you every played on a Rickenbacker? If yes, did you like how it played?

I know I've already posted a couple questions and thanks for letting me know one of them was answered. I've got another to add to the list though.
When you're writing the music to a song, are you theory minded or just playing what sounds good. I have the "When I Learn to Sing" songbook and I'm a pianist that loves theory. There are some really cool chord changes and great uses of chords that are not in the key the song is in. I am curious to know if those are all thought out and planned or they just kind of happen.

Fun fact: if you listen to the end of "First Heart Attack" really close, after everyone else stop talking, you can hear someone say "Stop" just as the song ends.

When you write songs gradually as they come to you, or do you sit down and write an album's worth of songs all at once?
Would you ever cover one of the Brothers Martin songs as Starflyer, as you did with "West Coast Friendship"?
Will there be an EP released between Dial M and the next full length?
Have you started working on the next album yet?

Imagine Starflyer was booked for a major event and the band had 12 minutes to perform (with any past or present lineup). What would the set list be?
What was your favorite tour or lineup that you felt the band really clicked well?
I know Trey is a good drummer, but have you ever thought about drumming for Bazan and having him play drums for your set? Double the Martin, double the Bazan!
