So the companion release for The Otherly Opus is up for preorder. Ten tracks of guest artists remixing tracks from TOO, plus two new Joy Electric tracks. I think it sounds pretty cool. Listen to two tracks on JE's myspace. Read the list of remixers on the JE forum thread. |

I wish they'd put some more preview tracks out. Especially Travelogue's.  edit: Speak of the devil...Jono said they just put some new tracks up. |

you really need to hear the remixes of "wolf in the bend" and "who are friends" from friend of mannequin. they are simply amazing. |

Old thread is old, I know, but I just got Their Variables today. (It's just $4, including shipping, from the JE website.)
First impressions: a bunch of the remixes are better than I remember them being (when I listened to them on myspace years ago). And holy freaking carp, "Like Fools They Bathed in the Pools" is amazing. That synthesizer freakout at the end is just overwhelming.

Yeah, I think that song kinda fell by the wayside thanks to being only on a remix album. Even I do not listen to it much, but it is something amazing. The Echoing Green's remix is also a highlight. I probably said that before, but who knows now.
