Volcano Choir

I got this record in the mail yesterday.  For anyone who's not familiar with the band, it's a side project from members of Collections of Colonies of Bees, and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver.  I'm a huge Bon Iver fan, so I thought preordered the record without even giving it a listen.

It's a pretty enjoyable experience, but not quite what I was expecting.  I love the sparse vocals, and it's a good fit for Vernon's voice.  There's a version of a Bon Iver song from Blood Bank EP on there, which sounded good.  It definitely fits the Volcano Choir album better than it did the Blood Bank EP.
