http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leave_Here_A_StrangerAccording to Wikipedia, it was apparently named one of the Los Angeles Times' top albums of 2002, regardless of its actual release in '01. I can't find any other information on this elsewhere. Perhaps someone else can back this up? If you ask me, it's almost too good to be true.

[citation needed] Well, Jason did say that was the band's biggest peak point. Or something like that.

It's true ... I remember seeing the LA Times article. It must have since been removed. As far as the year mix up, the contributor probably just wrote the wrong year.

Never heard that before. It's definitely my favorite album. Too bad the article was taken down.

I saw SF59 on the Old Tour and asked Jason Martin if he was going to work with Terry Taylor again and he replied "I have no idea."

I thought that the production on LHAS was great. It's my favorite SF59 album, but I was always very disappointed in Terry's production on Poor Old Lu's Mindsize album, and wish that they'd used someone else.

I am not very familiar with Poor Old Lu at all. I have heard some of their stuff in passing, but never really got to know that band.
I really enjoy that LHAS was mixed in mono.

Yes, me too. At the time I heard Jason wanted it that way because of The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds" being mixed in mono.

That makes sense. Taylor is a huge Beach Boys fan as well. Pet Sounds is pretty great, such a sad album, really.

The pseudo-orchestral arrangements for LHAS were definitely a Pet Sounds reference too.

I may have to listen to Pet Sounds and LHAS back to back.
