Nice, sounds more and more like (Ghost) Riders In The Sky. Grin

Jason's next step should be to cover Johnny Cash. Tongue

i agree @mintshows..  the stuff i've heard sounds like a mix of LHAS and Fashion Focus...  i dig the drum sounds - mostly the snare - this time around more than the last 3 albums.

i wonder though - who's singing BGV's?

"Shane" has a similar melody to "All Done Wrong".

Ah, castanets, our old friend. Haven't heard you since Can't Stop Eating.

It sounds appropriately cowboyish for a song referencing a Western film.

Has anyone ripped in the vinyl? I have the test pressing and am going on a ten hour drive tomorrow and desperately want it for the drive. Can anyone hook me up? I'll provide a picture of me with my test pressing. It'd be even more badass if you've ripped in the 7" as well. That's my one regret about leaving tomorrow, I won't be here when my CD copy gets here so I won't have it to rip in, so it can be on my iPod. If anyone can help me out before 9 tomorrow I will love you forever!

Just realized the line in kick the can. " So well play kick the can it'll make us young like Serling says.". References the episode Kick the Can of the Twilight Zone.

Amazing episode if you have never seen it I recomend checking it out on YouTube.

Just discovered more Twilight Zone references.
Changing of the Guard is actually a title of a Twilight Zone Episode.
In the episode a school professor retires and decides that all his years teaching were a waste because none of his students ever cared.  He then decides his life was a waste and he should commit suicide.  when he is about to kill himself ghosts of his past students visit him and tell him what an impact he had on their lives.

Maybe this album is entirely about Jason watching too many Twilight Zone episodes.

"Shane" almost has an "OLD" feel... the BGV's almost sound like Lenz.

i'm glad these songs have some breathing room. that was sort of the downfall of My Island... it's shaping up to be even better than Dial M was.

Wow.. Looks like a few good questions for Jason.

Would "Shane" be a reference to anything else but the book?  I read that in Jr High or High School.

Any idea if the movie by the same name is based on that book?
