The reviews make it seem like Jason is writing about getting old, which is true in a way. But it seems it's more about losing his dad. For example, in the first song he talks about how his father's picture is on the wall and how he's never going to see him again. To not know what he's writing about is to miss a lot of what he's actually saying.

Just got the TCOTG vinyl yesterday. The best Burnt Toast has put out in my opinion. Beautiful clear vinyl with yellow marbling. One slot each for the 12" and 7". It opens like a book in the middle for a huge spreading picture of that city seen. Very grainy picture but somehow it makes it beautiful. The 7" has an acoustic version of Coconut Trees and a new song, Follow Me. Where T&N falls short, Burnt Toast picks up the slack. As for Follow Me fitting in with the rest of the album I have to listen to it a few more times.

http://bit.ly/aaIUQ7 -- Here's the lyrics to "Follow Me" I definitely feel it fits in with the album well both on a musical and thematic level. It does find a home better as a B-side for me though. I just prefer the tracks from the album more.

Where T&N falls short, Burnt Toast picks up the slack. Hm? How is the art in the vinyl version any different from that in the CD version?

Someone has probably asked before now, but would anyone mind upping/sending the mp3s from the 7"? If you need to see proof of purchase for the album it can of course be provided.

I've made mp3 and FLAC versions of those tracks. I'm uploading them right now. I can PM the link to anyone who provides proof that they have the vinyl.

Also, anyone unfamiliar with the FLAC filetype can check out this page for information and some useful free programs: http://flac.sourceforge.net/

The art's the same but the attention to detail - beauty of the marbled vinyl, jacket design with it opening up - and that Burnt Toast does this at all just shows that they, in my opinion, are bigger fans of Starflyer than T&N is. It seems like a Starflyer release is almost an afterthought to T&N but to Burnt Toast Vinyl they make it an event. I was excited to get the CD, more excited to get the vinyl.

I got back from "holiday" out of town, to find the LP in my mailbox. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I haven't even listened to it yet (that will come in the morning), but the package itself is wonderful: the kind of package that makes a person want to keep buying music in tangible form. Kudos to everyone involved...
