So when you tell your friends about Starflyer, how do you typically approach the music? Is there a certain song or album you have them listen to? Do you explain the music in terms of genre and if so, which genre do you talk about? Are you typically successful at winning people over or do you friends hate Starflyer?

Sometimes I wonder what Starflyer would sound like if Gene Eugene was still around.

I introduced my wife to SF59, and she likes the older albums. Americana is her favorite, and I think that was the first one she really listened to. I would probably give some one "Leave Here a Stranger" as an introduction nowadays.

...the a side to everybody makes mistakes.
i think it's still got enough "big" to reminisce the older records, but it's polished & pop enough for the newer records.
plus, the songs from that record kill the newer stuff IMHO...

depends on the person - will they dig the guitar work on gold, or americana? 60's-style pop fans? that's fashion focus or leave here a stranger. slightly off-center 80's pop like Jason grew up on, but want it updated and modern sounding? everybody makes mistakes, my island or dial m.

my brother used to pass the first disc of "easy come, easy go" around his dorm and tell people that they just needed to find one song they liked and he'd make them into starflyer fans from there.
