Here's the million dollar question...

Why are picture discs never packaged in a real cardboard sleeve? I mean, I realize it's cool to have a pretty picture on the vinyl.... But why sacrifice the actual album sleeve for it? Why not have best of both worlds... Picture disc in a cardboard sleeve with lyric slip?

the only time i've seen both done is if the picture disc image is something completely different than the cover. to have the cover on the jacket and record is kinda overkill. i'd prefer a plain blank jacket to the plastic jackets they always come in. everytime i get a picture disc sent to me (including this one) the record cuts through the plastic anyway.

though there's a fair amount of hiss and crackle in between songs (and a slight cut off in the begining of side B) i think overall the picture disc sounds great.

it took me a while to get my turntable set up correctly again, because the cables are so small, and i had to subsequently purchase extensions and adapters, but it sounds great.

i'm still waiting COFG in the mail.  but i'm glad to finally have Old on vinyl.

thanks again mike/xra,

~miguel

Hitler also released a book. I guess I have to stop buying books now.

(My comment is in jest. I hope yours is too.)

Hey, where do you guys get frames for LP sleeves? I bought two at Walmart way back (I have Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice and Velour 100's Of Color Bright framed), but I haven't seen 'em since.

(This message was almost entirely off-topic but I'm a moderator so I approve it.)

I've gotten my frames at either Urban Outfitters (boo) or Michael's in the past. i need to pick up a few more ...
