I think people have the wrong idea about Jason's Job. He does not have any "managerial duties", as he does not have any employees. The company consists of Him and 1 truck. It used to consist of Him and Ronnie and 1 truck. And before that, his Dad, Ronnie, him, and 1 truck. Before his dad passed, his dad was semi-retired, and Ronnie and Jason would do the trucking together. When one of them wanted to tour, they had the other one to take over the duties while they were on the road. And at the times when they were both on the road, their dad would pick up the slack. At one point around the year 2003, I know Ronnie was able to quit working to pursue music fulltime, but he would still fill in for Jason when he would hit the road. Now that their dad has passed, and Ronnie has moved out of State, the only thing Jason would be able to do as far as touring is park the Truck completely during the period he is on tour, which anyone that understands the nature of small business, knows that he would end up losing a percentage of the already small group of Clients I'm sure he works very hard to keep.

a wealth of new info! had no idea thats how this all worked Smiley so why does he drive? where's he go? whats he haul? does he lug the cargo to and fro the truck? more questions!!!

from what i was told by Jason
he hauls pharmaceuticals and other hospital equipment...etc. from Riverside to Los Angeles and back daily if not several times a day in his truck
he does have a couple people that can cover him from time to time but it seems like mostly it's all on his shoulders

Yeah, he has some regular clients, but i believe he also does the "truck for hire" sorta thing, where he'll haul sort of anything. And yes I believe he does most of the "grunt work".

hey keithy!

i have that show on video from Coweta,OK when Jason did the acoustic show with Map opening.  I had talked to Josh Dooley just briefly about doing a few shows with Map back in the day (for their south tour) b/c his drummer/bassist had quit on him...it didn't work out but my point is Josh knew who I was at the show.  When him and Jason started playing the jazzy stuff they were looking for a drummer.  My buddy Russ yells hey Ryan go play....Josh then says "yeah hey ryan get up here" - I was just too nervous lol....I mean jamming with Jason? but right about then James from Ester Drang got up there and drummed.

Good show.

I have family pretty close to there and am going to visit soon.  Maybe I'll have him deliver me a SF59 LP.
