Tracking starts tomorrow.Trey Many on Drums T.W. Walsh on console. I'm guessing console means sound board. I'm clueless with audio tech terms. well there isn't really a "sound board" in a studio thats usually at venues and live clubs he will be maning the mixing board and or computer and or console

I have no idea. I did visit a radio station when I was a kid! They had buttons there. The buttons did things.

I like the sound of the TW Walsh produced records I've heard, the last 2 Bazan records.

Hmmm, interesting. Could have many meanings.
Jason did work for the Cold War Kids.
But, the actual Cold War era had a lot of great tunes and styles that influenced Jason's music.
I'm thinking he means the latter.

Did Instagram start some annoying thing where they put a white heart over most of the picture if you don't have an account?
I can see the pic you posted above without it, but when I linked it from Twitter via phone the heart blocker was there.

This picture gets me excited! Very excited! It feels good to have this level of buzz and excitement around a SF59 record again. I mean, I know it was always present in our little circle of intense fandom, but this time it seems to, possibly, be a little more widespread, and it feels like we are all way more stoked on this. I would say that our being way more stoked on it is due to the fact that we helped make this happen, which I am still extremely proud of everyone of us for! *high fives everyone in his extreme excitement, then slinks off to the back room feeling embarrassed* *from the backroom* Not to cause a brouhaha but with that silvertone and bassman, anyone think we're gonna have some hard driving feedback laden songs? I don't care either way. It'd be rad as all get out if that happened, sort of this record's "Too Much Fun", but I won't be let down if it's not there either.

Another hard rockin' song would be nice. I'd also like another extended jam song.

i'd really like for the album to have a similar breezy vibe as the Fashion Focus. as far as bass guitar playing is concerned, the last several Starflyer albums have been so punctuated and locked-in to the tight drum beats that they've lost a little bit of sloppiness that feels like real people playing music, and not something programmed on a drum machine or synth. i say, throw out the metronome and/or click track or at least open up the high hat or something... let the bass notes flow over the drums instead of syncing up to every kick-drum beat.
i guess what i'm really trying to say is - with the extra money, pay Jeff Cloud to throw some bass guitar on LP 13 for crying out loud.

Aw yeah. He produced Compeating, one of my favorite Sf59 eps.
And that band he was in was pretty cool too.

What happened to TW Walsh?
Maybe he just set up or brought some gear?

You think they're done with tracking already?! That'd be way ahead of schedule since tracking was supposed to go till the end of August. Maybe they're doing some tracking at Jason's studio as well? That looks like Jason's studio from the Kickstarter picture. Or, maybe, they're just doing some quick mixing and mixdowns at Jason's studio to see how things sound and what may or may not need to be added to a song they just finished that day? Please to have some updates Trey?
