Recently, I bought four SF59 CDs from a user on Ebay. Got a great deal.

In the EMM CD, this receipt fell out. Apparently, the original owner bought it from a "New Creation" store on 02/28/2000 for $15.98

Does that price seem about right for that time period?  I thought retial CDs were averaging around $12 to $14 at that time, but I could be mistaken.

Maybe the price was a mistake?

It seems high because it's a christian bookstore price. I paid the same amount that year.

I wonder what the "ARCH-JESUS WALKS" and "LITTLE FISH-CAME" products are. Guessing by their low price, they were probably trinkets or candy at the register.

I think about $12 of that money went to Tooth and Nail.

That doesn't seem right.

"New Creation" bought it at a wholesale price from T&N. Let's say they bought it for 7 dollars. T&N probably got about $5 and SF59 got $2.00. "New Creation" got $9.00.

That's my thinking.

I think the band would get about $1.60 after recouping recording costs. I think Tooth and Nail definitely got more than $5.

Word I received from my guy who worked at a Christian bookstore was that the Tooth and Nail wholesale was $12.

Some of that had to be the exchange rate. But yeah, I do remember CDs being very expensive when I visited Canada in 2001.

Yeah they were all that bad. Same with the secular stores. Way too expensive and yet I burned through cash building my collection. And now I have way to many T$N punk CDs that I never spin.

It wasn't entirely the bookstores fault.  They didn't make much money of these.  They ordered from the one canadian distributer (CCM at that time) and they're prices were quite high.  luckily I got promo prices for my radio show at $4/disc.  I paid out of my pocket (not the station's budget) and kept them when the show ended.
