All Other Music / Richard Swift - Nothing to Do With Foxy Boxing
« Last post by porlock on Today at 02:24:29 PM »
I just ripped Richard Swift's "Nothing to Do with Foxy Boxing" 7" to mp3 and am trying to figure out where the track breaks are. The sleeve lists 3 songs on the B side - "Daughters," "Tricycle," and "1977 (Mexico)". However, there are only 2 obvious tracks - the first with vocals and the second instrumental - although it seems possible that the vocal piece might be two separate songs recorded in one take, because there is a section where it gets quiet and the vocal melody changes (although the piano keeps time throughout). To complicate things further, there is a song called "Mexico (1977)" on Walking Without Effort which is not on the 7 inch. So it seems like either:

[1] (a) the track with vocals consists of "Daughters" + "Tricycle" in a single take, with the division coming where the melody changes, (b) "1977 (Mexico)" is the instrumental, and (c) "1977 (Mexico)" is therefore a different song from "Mexico (1977),"

or

[2] (a) the track with vocals is a single track that was actually intended to be titled "Daughters' Tricycle" but was mistakenly listed as two songs on the sleeve (and (b) and (c) remain the same as in the scenario above)

or

[3] (a) the entire vocal track on the 7" is "Daughters," (b) the instrumental track is "Tricycle," and (c) presumably "1977 (Mexico)" is the same as "Mexico (1977)" but was left off the 7" despite being listed on the sleeve.

Does anyone know what's going on here?

Hi everyone. I am looking for mp3 rips of the following impossible to find CD's:

Plastiq Musiq's Electric Music Compilation 1 (I saw that someone had posted this here awhile back, but the link is dead now)
Britannika - Tales from Her Magesties Ship.
Calicoes - Sneak Peek
v/a - RIM v. Beta (Battered Fish, Huntingtons, Mike Knott, Jeff Elbel, etc.)
v/a - Persuading You Near (Damien Jurado, Soulfood 76, Poor Old Lu, etc.)

I am happy to swap mp3's of other ChrIndie rarities if I have something you need; feel free to inquire - I have lots of early T&N, VBM, Blonde Vinyl, Flying Tart, etc., including a fair number of vinyl rips of things that have never been released in CD/digital format. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

It's a classic old-fashioned audio player. And it is a good thing to accumulate.

I'm so bad at all of this responding, but I try to read as much of the conversations as I can.

I've been a long time fan and am always delighted to see any action from Martin & co.

I agree...would've fit nicely on SLOW...

"Like a baby" is the best song he's written since Dial M days...the b side of the 7 inch only furthers his current style.

Lovin' the a-side. Sounds so much better than the last couple releases. :)

Been kinda quiet here since Terror came out. I got the MP3s the other day. It's a great single. Terror would have fit nicely on Slow. Like a Baby 2 wouldn't have fit in quite so much but it's a good B side still.
