- The Kickstarter Project was backed 240%! Jason Martin had a goal of $10,000, and raised over $24,000.
- A new demo has been released! It's got some great harmonica in it and can be heard at Bandcamp.

While it may not be news to all of you, Jason Martin's brother, Ronnie, has a Kickstarter campaign of his own to fund a new Joy Electric album.
Like the Starflyer Kickstarter campaign, Joy Electric's has greatly surpassed its funding goal. But for a Joy Electric fan, the rewards for backing the project are well worth it. Check it out.
And if you've not yet made your Starflyer 59 Kickstarter pledge, you can do so here.
Starflyer 59 and Joy Electric were two of the longest-running and most prolific bands on the Tooth and Nail label. The label's support of both bands was waning in recent years, and it's great to have an opportunity to help both bands carry on. |

As the screenshot the to the left shows, Starflyer 59 has gotten 150% of the requested funding for their new album.
The band members are probably totally blown away with surprise and shock - especially when they met their goal of $10,000 within only eight hours.

Holy cow! Mr. Martin plans to self-release a new album. Where to start with this news?
Funds to pay for the recording, production, etc. are being collected on Kickstarter.
- Over $10,000 was pledged on Kickstarter within the first 8 hours.
- The album will be available digitally and on vinyl. No CDs.
- Jason intends to rent studio time and hire out some folks to help mix and master the album, as well as have professional artwork created.

As reported in our forum, insider information from TW Walsh says that Tooth and Nail Records has dropped Starflyer 59 from its band roster. This comes as no surprise, as the label's promotion of the band has been rather lackluster in recent years.
Starflyer was the longest-signed band on Tooth and Nail, and every full-length album to date has been released there. According to Walsh, frontman Jason Martin plans to release an album independently. |

Broken Arm was a short-lived collaboration between Jason Martin and David Bazan (pictured).
There's been some great stuff released as a result:
- Broken Arm from the Ghosts of the Future box set. Lyrics by David Bazan/music by Jason Martin.
- Lost My Shape on David Bazan's solo album Curse Your Branches. This song is the same lyrics from "Broken Arm" but set to different music. Lyrics and music by David Bazan.
- Eating Paper on David Bazan's solo album Strange Negotiations. Lyrics by David Bazan/music by Jason Martin.
- Messes on David Bazan's solo album Strange Negotiations. This song uses the music from "Broken Arm" but with different lyrics. Lyrics by David Bazan/music by Jason Martin.
